As a Project Manager, I love my hobby of chasing and catching Solar Eclipses all over the globe. It’s world travel on a deadline. Since 1998, I’ve traveled to the Caribbean, Northern Europe, Africa, Australia, flown over Antarctica, South America, the Galapagos, Libya, Egypt, and China. My trips since 2002 are shared via the newsletters and the blog listed below. 2005 Galapagos, Ecuador and Peru It’s a world spanning hobby that continues to take my husband and me all over the world. The map below is of solar eclipses from 2001—2025. For more a larger map, click on the map to link to the NASA Total Solar Eclipse Paths Map.

Our next trip, for the July 22, 2009 Solar Eclipse, will take us back to China, this time to Shanghai then on to South Korea, and Japan. We’re traveling with Astronomy Vacations on the Costa Classica to “mid-point / maximum eclipse ” for a 6 minute 39 second eclipse. |

For those in the US who cannot fathom traveling to such lengths to watch the sun go dark, you can look forward to the August 21, 2017 Eclipse starting in Oregon and ending in South Carolina. Or the April 8, 2024 Eclipse right over Dallas TX, starting in Mexico and ending in Maine. Happy Travels and Clear Skies. |
